Submitting Files for Schedule Viewing
You will need to submit three plain text files: courses.txt,
grid.txt, and settings.txt as explained below. (If you prepare any of
them using Microsoft Word, then use "Save As..." under the "File"
menu, and then use the pull down menu for "Save as type" to save as
plain text. Similarly, other formats, e.g., .xls, should be converted
to plain text.) Once your three files are ready, you can proceed to
the
upload page.
- courses.txt: Your course data. This is where you need
to do the most work, but it is straightforward as per these
course data preparation instructions.
- grid.txt: Your specification of where to draw guidelines
and time labels in the grid. This is extremely simple as per these
grid data preparation instructions.
(You may even be able to just download a grid to use without modification.)
- settings.txt: Your specification of color, typesize, and
typeface customizations. You can actually submit an empty file if you
want everything black, roman, and in default sizes. Otherwise, the
adventurous user can work off of these detailed
customization examples and explanations.
If you are less adventurous, you can go to the
quick customization page.
to download the closest match to what you want and then just do
simple modifications as suggested afterwards. You should also feel free to
email me (rig at cs.luc.edu)
to describe what customizations you would like, and I'll try to
prepare a customization file for you promptly. It would be helpful if
you first make your best effort at uploading your three files so that
I'll be able to check that I'm accomplishing what you ask for.
Again, once your three files are ready, you can proceed to the
upload page.
