LEGEND: HW1, HW2, ... : Homework 1, Homework 2, ... (How many homeworks there are may change up until the end of the semester.) HWT : Homework total scaled to give 100 points maximum EX1, EX2, ... : Exam 1, Exam 2, ... FIN : Final exam EXT : Exam total scaled to give 100 points maximum SEM : Semester average (0.22*HWT+0.78*EXT) MDL : Midterm letter grade LET : Semester letter grade NOTE: Official Loyola letter grades do include + and -, but Loyola does not allow A+ or D-; if I show one of those, it is only informational. If you see an entry of "NS" for one of your scores, that stands for "no score", i.e., an assignment that has not been turned in. It is counted like a 0 in the computations of totals and averages (except in exceptional circumstances where excuses have been granted, in which case some of the formulas above may be adjusted). NOTE: Points on individual components are not all comparable to one another; for example homework points are different from exam points, etc. Homework total and exam total will be computed according to the relative weights of subitems even if some are missing; the total possible on an individual item will generally be omitted until the grades are inserted so that semester average can still be computed on a 100 point scale. In case I slip up on this discipline, the possible score for semester average could be less than 100. This is now being sent out in HTML format as "preformatted text", so it should display ok in web browsers expecting HTML or as plain text with a fixed width font. But you may still need to watch out for line wrapping.
