1995?:[picture of RIG] Dec. '96:[picture of RIG with beard] Hi, this is just a short welcome page for friends, mainly designed to guide you to various personal stuff. To go there, you'll need the appropriate "User ID" and "Password"; if you don't have this information already, email me (rig@cs.luc.edu). Without ID and Password, you can also go to my home page focusing on the more professional side of things.

If you are unfamiliar with world wide web access control, here is some description of how things should work. This description is based on my experience with Netscape 3.01, but the situation should be essentially the same with other browsers. When you click on the personal stuff link, a window will come up that has boxes for "User ID" and "Password". Type the two items in exactly as they have been given to you; there is a difference between uppercase and lowercase. Use the tab key or the mouse to move from one box to another, i.e., don't type a carriage return until you are done. Once you have entered both items, you can use a carriage return or click on the "OK" box. Once you have successfully accessed something with the User ID and Password I have given you, you should not have to type them again in the same session to follow other links of mine that are accessible to you. If you do get asked again for a User ID and Password, it should be because you are trying to get into a subdomain of the Greenberg-friends domain for which you're not authorized. The domain you are trying to get into is indicated by Netscape where it says "Enter username for ...".
